Crossing borders: the importance of Interreg funding for cooperation projects
by Géraldine Lopez

The Interreg program, which brings together over 800 stakeholders in the Upper Rhine region, plays a fundamental role in European territorial cooperation. It represents one of the European Union's two central cohesion objectives, the second being the promotion of investment in growth and employment.
Between 2014 and 2020, the fifth generation of the Interreg program has funded more than 179 projects in our region. In total, projects supported under Interreg V have received a total of €109 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Thanks to this funding, many projects have been carried out that might never have been launched without this support.
To highlight its impact, the program authority has produced a video featuring testimonials and key achievements. Among the showcased projects is the “Vis-à-vis”, led by the TEB between 2018 and 2022, which received partial funding through Interreg.
