The neighboring cities of Basel, Weil am Rhein and Huningue have recognized the opportunity that synergies arise with joint planning. They are seizing the unique opportunity to develop the cross-border area around the 'Dreiländereck' in a coordinated manner.

The potential for urban, traffic and open space development on the former industrial sites between the Dreirosen and Palmrain bridges is great and, as a trinational task, unique in Europe.
