3Land: a cross-border district is created in the ‘Dreiländereck’

“Three cities - one future” - according to this motto, the neighboring cities of Basel, Weil am Rhein, Huningue and Saint-Louis have been working on the common goal of developing a cross-border urban district in the 3Land project since 2011.

The neighboring cities of Basel, Weil am Rhein and Huningue have recognized the opportunity that synergies arise with joint planning. They are seizing the unique opportunity to develop the cross-border area around the 'Dreiländereck' in a coordinated manner.

The potential for urban, traffic and open space development on the former industrial sites between the Dreirosen and Palmrain bridges is great and, as a trinational task, unique in Europe.
