Since December 15, 2024, Bus Line 220 has closed a long-standing gap in public transport between Germany and France. This direct, cross-border connection runs from Lörrach Bus Station via Binzen, Weil am Rhein-Haltingen, Pont du Palmrain, Huningue, and Saint-Louis to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg.

A special advantage of the new route: travelers can use their German, French, or Swiss monthly subscriptions across the entire route. This eliminates concerns about fare zones or detours through Switzerland.

Inauguration Ceremony

The inauguration of Line 220 was celebrated on December 14, 2024, with a joint first journey to the former German-French customs platform at Palmrain in Village-Neuf. Berthold Frieß (Director General at the Ministry of Transport of Baden-Württemberg) and Carsten Gabbert (President of the Freiburg Administrative Region and Chair of the Steering Committee for the Interreg A Upper Rhine Program) symbolically handed over the funding approvals to Marion Dammann, Landrätin of Lörrach.
