3Land – Three cities work hand in hand for quality of life and sustainability

A high quality of life across borders through attractive open spaces and sustainable urban development - that is the goal of the Canton of Basel-Stadt (CH), the City of Weil am Rhein (D) and the City of Huningue (F) in their cooperation in the 3Land project. Under the leadership of IBA Basel, the “Freiraum- und Naturschutzkonzept 3Land” (3Land open space and nature conservation concept) and the trinational criteria catalog "nachhaltiges 3Land durable" were developed in close trinational exchange.

These two groundbreaking publications are the result of ten years of joint efforts to promote sustainable development as part of the IBA process. They will have a long-term impact on urban development and renewal in the 3Land area between the Dreirosenbrücke and the Palmrainbrücke.
