Award for 3Land
In the “Successful networking in Europe” competition, the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) acknowledges towns and regions that implement projects jointly with European partners, so contributing actively to their local development. The district of Lörrach and city of Weil am Rhein have won the award for their exemplary crossborder cooperation. The “3-Land concept” is the basis for joint planning projects of the three country (Germany, Switzerland, France) triangle region. With this concept, the region has pioneered crossborder planning.
